1. Introduction

Welcome to WalkHer. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and WalkHer Ltd ("WalkHer," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the WalkHer mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

WalkHer is a safety-focused platform designed to connect women for safe walking companionship. By creating an account, accessing, or using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

3. Eligibility

3.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years of age to use WalkHer. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years or older.

3.2 Gender Requirement

WalkHer is a female-only platform designed for women's safety. To use the Service, you must identify as female, successfully complete identity verification confirming your gender, and provide truthful information during the verification process.

3.3 Account Limitations

You may only maintain one (1) account. Creating multiple accounts is prohibited and may result in termination of all accounts.

4. Account Registration

4.1 Registration Requirements

To create an account, you must provide:

• A valid email address
• A valid phone number
• Your full legal name
• Your date of birth
• A secure password

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, all activities that occur under your account, and immediately notifying us of any unauthorized access.

5. Identity Verification

5.1 Mandatory Verification

Identity verification is mandatory for all users. You cannot access core features until verification is complete.

5.2 Verification Process

The verification process requires:

• Passport - Valid passport only (no other forms of ID accepted)
• Selfie photograph - Live photo for facial matching with passport

5.4 Verification Fee

Identity verification fee: £3.49 (refundable if verification fails)

5.5 Successful Verification Reward

Upon successful identity verification, you will receive one (1) free month of premium subscription as a welcome benefit.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

6.1 Subscription Plans

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time through your account settings.

7. User Conduct

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose: connecting with other women for safe walking companionship.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Provide false identity information
• Create multiple accounts
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to circumvent security measures
• Share explicit, obscene, or inappropriate content
• Use the Service if you are not female

8. Safety Features & Limitations

8.1 Safety Features Provided

• Trip Matching - Connect with verified female users for walking companionship
• Location Sharing - Share real-time location with selected contacts
• Safety Mode - Enhanced tracking with emergency contact notifications
• SOS Alert - Quick access to emergency services and contact notification
• WalkHer Alerts - Community safety alerts for nearby users
• Emergency Contacts - Designate contacts to be notified in emergencies

9. Content & Communications

You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting Content, you grant WalkHer a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your Content for operating the Service.

Important: Direct messages, trip chat, and location sharing messages are volatile and are NOT permanently stored on our servers.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, content, and technology, is owned by WalkHer and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services:

• Stripe - Payment processing
• Ondato - Identity verification
• Expo - Push notifications
• Twilio - SMS services
• Google Maps - Location services

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WALKHER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, loss of profits, data, or goodwill, personal injury or property damage, or actions or omissions of other users.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: the amount you paid to WalkHer in the 12 months preceding the claim, OR £100.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WalkHer and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your interaction with other users.

15. Account Suspension & Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by using the "Delete Account" feature in the app or contacting us.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, for violation of these Terms, fraudulent or illegal activity, failed identity verification, providing false information, or harmful behavior toward other users.

16. Dispute Resolution

Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to contact us to attempt informal resolution. We will attempt to resolve disputes within 30 days. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

17. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide notice through email, in-app notification, or notice on our website. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

18. General Provisions

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and WalkHer regarding the Service. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
